Question :

2 supplementary angles measure of the larger angle is 36 degree more than the measure of the smaller one. Find their measure .

Answer :

\sf\pink{Given:}

  • Two angles are Supplementary.

  • Measure of larger angle is 36° more than the smaller.

\sf\pink{To\:find:}

  • Their measures ?

Explanation :

  • let the smaller angle be "x"

  • Therefore larger angle = x + 36

Rule :

Sum of supplementary angles is 180°

Equation Formed :

\longrightarrow\sf{x + x + 36 = 180}

\longrightarrow\sf{2x + 36 = 180}

\longrightarrow\sf{2x = 180 - 36}

\longrightarrow\sf{2x = 144}

\longrightarrow\sf{x = \dfrac{144}{2}}

\longrightarrow\sf{x = 72}

  • Therefore measure of smaller angle is 72°

  • Measure of larger angle is x + 36

\longrightarrow\sf{72 + 36}

\longrightarrow\sf{108}

  • Therefore measure of larger angle is 108°

Let us assume supplementary angles be and (180 - x)°

From the question,

The measure of the larger angle is 36° more than the measure of the smaller angle, let the larger angle be x°

Then,

= (180 - x) + 36 = x

= 216 - x = x

= 216 = x + x

= 216 = 2x

= x = 216/2

= x = 108

Larger angle = 108°

Smaller angle = ( 108 - 36)°

= 72°

Hope it's helps
