The question tags will be added as-
(a) It is an interesting novel, isn't it?
(b) He reads a book, doesn't he?
(c) She isn't late, is she?
(d) You have met him before, haven't you?
Forming question tags-
- A question tag is added to a statement to form its interrogative sentence and to assure some answers from the narrator.
- They are formed using the auxiliary/helping verbs in the sentence. If a sentence is positive the question tag will be negative, it will contain "not" in it, and vice versa.
- A question tag is addressed to the subject of the statement.
- The question tags for statements (a), (c), & (d) are formed using the helping verbs of the statements. The question tag for (c) will be positive because the statement is negative in nature.
- In the second statement (b) there is no auxiliary verb so we bring the present form of the verb 'does' to add the question tag.
