Answer:

1.24*10^{30}

Solution:

There is a simple trick that can help to give the answer approximately. To calculate the exact value you will have to use a calculator.

Note: This trick does not give the exact value.

Trick:

Question 1:

If there is 2^a , divide the exponent in groups of 2^{10}. The final term should be 2^x where x should be less than 10. If there is a third group having x less than 10 replace 2^x with the value of 2^x.

Say, 2^{27} is given. Write it as 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^7.

In our case,

2^{100} = 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^{10}

Next, replace each 2^{10} with 10^3.

So, our question becomes 1 * 10^{30}

For every 10^3 add 2.4%. We have used 10 times 10^{30} so we have to add 24% of 1 to 1 i.e. 1+(24% of 1) * 10^{30}. If there was third group having 2^x (x less than 10 ) then we would have added 2.4% of 2^x for every 10^3 to 2^x

(1+0.24)*10^{30}

1.24 * 10^{30}

Original answer is 1.26 * 10^{30} and our answer is 1.24 * 10^{30}.

Question 2:

2^{27}

First divide the exponent in groups of 2^{10}.

2^{27} = 2^{10} * 2^{10} * 2^7

Replace every 2^{10} with 10^3 and 2^7 with 128.

Our exponent becomes 128*10^6 or 1.28 * 10^8.

Now we have to add ((2 * 2.4%) of 1.28) + 1.28 for every 10^3.

2^27 = (1.28 + (4.8% *1.28)) *10^8

2^27 = (1.28 + 0.06144)*10^8

2^27 = 1.34144 * 10^8

Original answer is 1.342 * 10^8 and our answer is 1.341 * 10^8.
