let cost of bat be x and ball be y

3x + 6y =3900  --------1

x + 9y = 1300 (she buys 3 more so we plus 6 to 3) --------2

using subtitution it easily be solved

x=1300-9y  --------- 3

substitute the value of x in equation  (1) , we get

3(1300 -9y) +6y =3900

3900 - 21y  = 3900
