Gaseous exchange is necessary in plants. Carbon dioxide is necessary for photosynthesis, which is taken in the form of air. For this purpose, stomata are present on leaves, stems and other organs. Stomata are the pores present on the epidermis.  

After the secondary growth, lenticels are formed on plant stems. Lenticels are pore like opening present on tree trunk. They are involved in gaseous exchange.
