The length cm) of an edge of a cube is proportional to the cube root of its mass
(m grams). It is known that if I = 15, then m - 125.
Let k be the constant of proportionality.

Given : The length  l cm  of an edge of a cube is proportional to the cube root of its mass (m grams). if I = 15, then m - 125.

k be the constant of proportionality

To find : the relationship between l, m and k.

Solution:

l ∝ ∛m

l = k∛m

 I = 15, then m - 125.

=> 15  =  k∛125

=> 15 = k  (5)

=> 3 = k

=> l  = 3∛m

l³ = 27 m

Additional Info :

Direct variation if a variable increases then other variable also increases with a constant factor   y = kx

inverse variation if a variable increases then other variable decreases with a  constant factor  xy = k

Joint variation is a relationship between atleast three variables, where one variable varies directly with all other variables.

y = kxz

Combined Variation  is a relationship between three or more variables where it is in direct variation with few variable and in inverse  variation with other variable  y = kx/z
