Median = Middle number

i)1000, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 10000

Median = 1400

ii) 1000, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 10000, 31500

Median = \frac{1400+ 1500}{2} = 1450

Median = 1450

Answer:

i) 1400

ii)1450

Step-by-step explanation:

i) To find median of data we have to write them in ascending or descending order:

Ascending order: 1000, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 10000.

Hence the median would be central value if data is odd :

1400.

ii) If another income of 31500 is added, the data in ascending order:

1000, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 10000, 31500.

The median will be average of two central values, if data is even.

So the median would be,

(1400+1500)/2

= 1450.
