2. The perimeter of a rectangle is 18cm and its width is 5/2 cm. Find its length​

• Perimeter of rectangle = 18cm
• Breadth of the Rectangle = 5/2cm

To Find :

• Length of the Rectangle

Solution :

We know that perimeter of a rectangle is given by 2(Length + Breadth) and in this question perimeter of rectangle along with the breadth of the rectangle are given and we have to find the length of the rectangle. So simply we will put the given values in the formula to find the Length of the rectangle.

Finding the Length of the Rectangle :

• Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)
• 18 = 2(Length + 5/2)
• 18/2 = Length + 5/2
• 9 = Length + 5/2
• 9 - 5/2 = Length
• 9/1 - 5/2 = Length
• 9 × 2/1 × 2 - 5/2 = Length
• 18/2 - 5/2 = Length
• 18 - 5/2 = Length
• 13/2 = Length

Therefore :

• Length of the Rectangle is 13/2 cm
