The snow shoes have large, flat soles so they exert less pressure (= force /area) on the soft snow and stop the wearer from sinking into it.

riham: thanks
riham: What force acting on an area of 0.5m2 will produce a pressure of 500Pa
Kartik1717: We know that pressure is the normal force acting per unit area. So,

P = F/A

so the force will be

F = P x A

here

P = pressure = 500 Pa

A = area = 0.5 m2

thus, we get

F = 500 x 0.5

so force is

F = 250 N

riham: What force acting on an area of 0.5m2 will produce a pressure of 500Pa
anu168: just wait a min
anu168: we know that pressure is the normal force acting per unit area, so P= F/A so, the force will be F=PxA , P =pressure = 500pa, A= area =0.5m2 ,thus, we get F= 500x 0.5 , so force is F =250 N
