twice as old as vipul. Find their present ages.

and vipul= y

so we know x+y= 45

y=45-x

this is our first equation

nextly, we know

that x+3 =2(y+3)

we can substitute the value of y

thus, X+3 = 2(45-x+3)

X+3 = 96-2x

3x=93

X= 31

y= 45-31=14
