2)Primary rock is an early term in geology that refers to crystalline rock formed first in geologic time, containing no organic remains, such as granite, gneiss and schist as well as igneous and magmatic formations from all ages.

3)The mantle is the mostly-solid bulk of Earth's interior. The mantle lies between Earth's dense, super-heated core and its thin outer layer, the crust.

4)The lithosphere includes the crust (whether continental or oceanic) and the uppermost part of the upper mantle.

5)Although the inner core is very hot, it is solid because it is experiencing very high pressure. The pressure in the outer core is not high enough to make it solid.

6)These minerals are joined in sedimentary rocks by clay minerals, calcite, dolomite, gypsum, and halite.
