Raw Materials required in photosynthesis are as under :-

1) Solar Energy whose source is sunlight from sun. An adequate amount of sunlight is important to carry out this process.

2) Carbon Dioxide whose source is atmosphere. Plants receive carbon dioxide through small openings in leaves called stomata.

3) Water whose source is the roots of the plants. Roots absorb the water and reaches the leaves through the stem of the plants.

4) Chlorophyll whose source are leaves itself. It is a green pigment present in chloroplasts of the cell.

Role of leaves in photosynthesis :-

=> Leaves play an important role in the process of photosynthesis. Leaves contain chlorophyll which is important for this process.
