The irony in the title ‘'How to tell wild animals' is the poet says if ever we go to jungle to see a wild animal from close quarters, we may be attacked by the wild animal. In that case we may not be alive to tell others about the wild animals.  

The poet actually is implying that while seeing wild animals we should take all the precautions. We should not go very close to them as they may attack us and hurt us. We should either go in a protected vehicle or with a guide to watch wild animals from a safe distance.
