it is due to inertia of mat that when mat is beaten with stick the mat come in motion but the dust present in them wants to remain in rest due to their inertia and hence after beating the mat eith stick the mat come in motion and dust remains at rest and as a result dust comes out of it

Answer:initially both the carpet and the dust at rest when the carpet is beaten with the with a stick the carpet is set into motion due to inertia of rest the dust particle tend to remain at rest is a result dust particle fall off.
