Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction where there is no fusion of sex gametes.

Explanation:

  • Binary fission is the type of asexual reproduction among unicellular organisms.

Binary fission is a process where the organism divides its cellular content, Genetic material (DNA) into two to form a new organism. Eg:Amoeba.

Regeneration, Budding and Fragmentation are modes of asexual reproduction among multicellular organisms.

  • At the time of birth there are 1-2 million immature oocytes exist in the ovary of the female.

An individual has 1-2 Million oocytes at the time of birth. An individual cannot produce oocytes during lifetime but only mature the existing oocyte into an ovum. By the time a person reaches puberty about 3-4 lakh oocytes are left in the ovary.

  • There are 23 pairs of chromosomes

Human genetic composition is 23 pairs of chromosomes. 21 pairs of autosomes (genes coding for general traits) and 2 pairs of allosomes (sex chromosomes X and Y).

  • Anther is the odd one out

Stigma, style and ovary constitute the female reproductive system of the flower.

Anther is a part  of the male reproductive system  where the pollen grains(male gametes) mature.
