Answer:

Explanation:

Toto was a monkey which was bought by the writer Ruskin Bond`s grandfather from a tonga driver. His grandfather was an animal lover and have even created a zoo comprising of different animals at home.

His grandfather believed that the tail would serve as a helping hand to him. He believed that the tail could be used while hanging from a branch and even help him in grabbing any delicacy which was beyond his hands.

The grandmother of the writer was not so happy with the idea of adding more pets to the existing numbers. So both the writer and the grandfather decided not to reveal the truth to her. The grandfather decided to disclose it once he finds her in a good mood.

They tied Tota to a hook in the wall so that he could not not escape. After sometime when they returned back to release the monkey they found that the ornamental paper which his grandfather has chosen to cover the  walls where no were to be seen, instead the wall gave a naked look with brick and plaster visible.

The hook had come out from the its socket and even the school blazer of the writer was in shreds. The writer`s grandfather instead of getting upset was very happy with Toto’s act.

The grandfather took it as an act of cleverness and even pondered that if the monkey had some more time he would end up making a rope out of the torn pieces of the blazer and escape.

Hope this helps.
