In India, the legal driving age for any geared vehicle is 18 years whereas, for a non-geared vehicle, the legal driving age is 16 years. No one is allowed to drive a vehicle without a valid driving license which is a legal rule in the country. Anyone applying for a driving license has to be at least 18-years old and is required to clear written and driving tests. After applying for a driving license, you can easily check the status of the license by either visiting the local RTO or visiting the official Ministry of Road Transport and Highway’s website.

The official website for the Transport Department can be used for a number of different services including checking the driving license status after application. Since it takes about 30 days for the RTO to process, verify, and deliver the driving license, applicants can use the website to check the status of the license at any time.
