so, 2p + q =13 .... (i)

and 5p - 4q=-2.....(ii)

(ii)+(i) ×4

8p+4q=52

+5p-4q=-2

13p=50

so, p=50/13

therefore q=69/13......{5×(50/13) - 4q = -2}

since 1/x=p

        so x=13/50

since 1/y=q

         so y=13/69
