Solution:-

2(x - 4) = 4x + 2  \\ \\  \\  \leadsto \: 2x - 4 = 4x + 8 \\ \\   \\  \leadsto \:  - 8 - 2 = 4x - 2x \\   \\ \\  \leadsto \:  - 10 = 2x \\  \\  \\  \leadsto \: x =  \frac{ - 10}{2}  \\ \\   \\  \leadsto \: x =  - 5

Hence,

The Value of x = -5 in (x-4) = 4x +2.

Solution :-

\begin{gathered}:\implies\sf{ 2x - 8 = 4x + 2}\\ \\ \\ :\implies\sf{ 2x = 4x + 2 + 8} \\ \\ \\ :\implies\sf{  2x = 4x + 10} \\ \\ \\ :\implies\sf{ 2x - 4x = 10}\\ \\ \\ :\implies\sf{ -2x = 10}\\ \\ \\ :\implies\sf{ x = }\dfrac{ 10}{-2} \\ \\ \\ :\implies\sf{ x = -5}\end{gathered}

Hope it helps uh!
