Age of Salim=x-2
Age of her daughter=y-2

$(x - 2) = 3(y - 2) \\ x - 2 = 3y - 6 \\ x - 3y = - 4........(1)$


After 6 years,
$x + 6 = 2(y + 6) + 4 \\ x + 6 = 2y + 12 + 4 \\ x - 2y = 10.......(2)$
On subtracting equation( 2 )from( 1),we get,
y=14
On putting the value of y in equation (1),we get,
$x - 3 \times 14 = - 4 \\ x - 42 = - 4 \\ x = 38$
