Let the no. of 100 rupee notes be x

The number of 500 rupee notes if 100 rupee notes are x=30-x

=100x+500(30-x)=5000

=100x+15000-500x=5000

=100x-500x=5000-15000

=100x-500x= -10000

= -400x= -10000

=x=-10000/-400

=x=25

So,x=25 which means no. of 100 rupee notes=25

Then 500 rupee notes=30-x=30-25=5

ANSWER-100 rupee notes=25
