(a) Anil kept Hari as a cook because Hari told him that he could cook.
(b) Hari was grateful because Anil was going to teach him to cook. He also taught him to write his name and said he would soon teach him to write whole sentences and to add numbers.
(c) Hari continued making money from cheating on the shopping.
(d) Anil didn't hand Hari over the police because he has put the money back at its place. It shows that he realize his fault. Anil wants to give him one more chance to forgive him.
