Given ,

The roots of the given polynomial is 1 and 2

Putting it into polynomial : -

putting x= 1

=> 1 - (10 ×1) + a×1 + b = 0

=> -9 + a + b = 0

=> a+ b= 9 ---------------------( i )

Now again putting values of [x = 2]

=> 2 - (10 ×4) + 2a + b=0

=> - 38 + 2a + b = 0

=> 2a + b = 38 -----------------(ii)

Here we get 2 equations putting the value of b from eq. (ii) into (i)

a + 38 - 2a = 9

-a = -29

a= 29

Find value of b in putting into any equation ............

b= - 20

orambedi237: your answer us wrong
orambedi237: x=1 is not there it is x-1
orambedi237: so your anwer is wrong because you have nottaken correct value
Anonymous: Hey look
Anonymous: x-1 =0 is polynomial
Anonymous: x = 1
Anonymous: simple
orambedi237: ok
Priyanshu222768: yes but in my book answer is a=23 and b=-14
