20 people were attacked by a disease and only 18 survived .Will you reject the hypothesis that the survival rate,if attacked by this disease,is 85% in favor of the hypothesis that it is more than 5% level?
Ho: p = 0.85 (claim)
Ha: p # 0.85
----
p-hat = 18/20 = 0.9
----
z(0.9) = (0.9-0.85)/sqrt[0.85*0.15/20] = 0.6282
----
p-value = 2*P(z > 0.6262) = 2*0.2656 = 0.53
----
Since the p-value is greater than 5%, fail to reject Ho.
The test results support the claim.
