So this question is simple and just have a small trick ..

Solution:-

Given: a fraction in which denominator is 3 more than numerator

so,

Let, numerator = x

then, denominator = x+3

so fraction is $\frac{x}{x+3}$

now,

According to question,

$\frac{x + 2}{x + 3 + 3} = \frac{1}{2}$

$\frac{x + 2}{x + 6} = \frac{1}{2}$

by cross multiplication,

$2(x + 2) = x + 6$

$2x + 4 = x + 6$

$2x - x = 6 - 4$

so by solving this:

$x = 2$

hence, numerator (x) = 2

so, denominator =2+3

=5

therefore fraction is

$</em><em>=</em><em>\frac{2}{5}$
