20. The ratio of pure milk to water in a can of adulterated milk is 8 : 1. If the pure milk is 98 kg , how much water has been mixed with it ?

hey your answer is :-

quantity of milk = 98 kg

quantity of water = x

ratio = 8 : 1

Now,

let the quantity of milk and water be 8x and 1 x..

A/ Q, 8x + x = 98

9 x = 98

x = 98 / 8 kg.

let the concentration of water be= x

the concentration of pure milk be= 8x

quantity of pure milk= 98kg

ACCORDING TO QUESTION

8x= 98

x= 98÷8

x=12.25 kg

therefore, 12.25 kg of water was mixed in 98kg of pure milk
