Answer:

Heat released, H = 1000 J

Power consumed, P = 200 J s⁻¹

Explanation:

Given:

V = 200V

R = 200Ω

t = 5s

To find:

H = ? and P = ?

We know that,

H = P × t

⇒H = (W/t) × t

⇒H = (VIt/t) × t

⇒H = VI × t

⇒H = (V × V/R) × t    (∵V = IR)

⇒H = (V²/R) × t

⇒H = [(200 × 200)/200] × t

H = 1000 J

H = 1kJ

and, P = W/t

⇒P  = VIt/t

⇒P  = VI

⇒P = V × V/R     (∵V = IR)

⇒P = (200 × 200)/200

P = 200 Js⁻¹
