EXAMPLE 8 : Construct a trapezium ABCD in which AB || CD, AB = 8.2 cm,
BC = 3.4 cm, CD = 3.4 cm and Z B = 75°.
SOLUTION :
Steps for Construction :
1. Draw AX and cut AB = 8,2 cm from it.
2. At B, draw a ray BY such that ZABY = 75°.
3. With B as centre and radius equal to 3.4 cm, cut BC = 3.4 cm
from BY
4. Through C, draw CZ parallel to AB.
Y
Z
75°
5. With C as centre and radius equal
D 3.4 cm C
to 3.4 cm, draw an arc cutting CZ
3.4 cm
at D. Join A and D, C and D.
Thus, ABCD is the required
