Chemical bond formed by the sharing of electrons is known as covalent bonds.
This bonds are usually found in compounds of non metals Such as CCl4 or H20. Because non metals cannot give electrons they can only accept electrons. Thus when non metal form compound it forms it by covalent bond or by sharing electrons.
Covalent bonds are of three types single covalent bond, double covalent bond, triple covalent bond.
Some properties are-
1.Covalent compounds are usually liquids or gases.only some of them are solid.
2.insoluble in water but soluble in organic compound.
3.they do not conduct electricity.
4.have low melting point and boiling point.
