Let the % be x and p be the principal

price becomes p(1+x/100)

On this price he gives 6.25% discount.

The selling price becomes p(1+x/100)(1-6.25/100)

=p(1+x/100)(0.9375)

This amount gives him 25% profit =p(1+25/100)

p(1+x/100)(0.9375)=p(1.25)

1+x/100=1.2/0.9375

x=(1.33333-1)×100

=33.33
