22) when exess HCl is added to the soln. the solution turns colourless as it neutralises when reacted with NaOH

Cu < Fe < Zn < Mg

two observations are:

(i) reddish brown deposition on iron filings.

(ii) copper sulphate solution turns pale.

23) a. the substances are sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate.

eq: 2CH3COOH+Na2CO3----> 2CH3COONa+H2O+CO2

b. For testing the presence of CO2

it is passed through lime water. CO2 turns lime water milky.
