Step-by-step explanation:

L.S.A of room ( Area of four walls) = 2(l+b) × h

= {2(8+5) ×4} m2

= (2 × 13 ×4) m2

= (8 × 13) m2

= 104 m2

Area of two doors = { 2( l × b) } m2

= { 2( 3 × 1.2) } m2

= { 2 × 3.6 } m2

= 7.2 m2

Area of two windows = { 2( l× b) } m2

= { 2( 1.5 × 1.2 ) } m2

= { 2 × 1.8 } m2

= 3.6 m2

Now, Area of walls = L.S.A of room - ( Area of two doors + Area of two windows)

= 104 m2 - ( 7.2+3.6) m2

= 104 m2 - 10.8 m2

= 93.2 m2

(I) Cost of distempering the walls = Rs.(93.2 × 12.50)

= Rs.1165

(ii) 1. If Rs.50 per "m"

Cost of carpeting the floor = Rs.( 8 × 50)

= Rs. 400

2. If Rs.50 per " m2"

Cost of carpeting floor = Rs. ( 40 × 50)

= Rs. 2000
