Perimeter of rectangle = 48 cm

Length of rectangle = 2b

2( l + b) = 48 cm

2( 2b + b) = 48 cm

2 × 3b = 48 cm

3b = 48 ÷ 2

3b = 24 cm

b = 24 ÷ 3

b = 8 cm

Therefore breadth of rectangle is 8 cm.

Hope it helps you.....

  • Breadth of rectangle is 8 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

  • Perimeter of rectangle is 48 cm.

To find:-

  • Breadth of rectangle.

Solution:-

Let, Breadth be x.

And Length of rectangle be 2x [We take length of rectangle be 2x because it is given that length is Twice the Breadth.]

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

  • Where, l and b are length and breadth of rectangle.

Putting Length,breadth and perimeter of rectangle in formula:

 \longrightarrow 48 = 2×(2x + x)

 \longrightarrow 48 = 4x + 2x

 \longrightarrow 48 = 6x

 \longrightarrow 48/6 = x

 \longrightarrow x = 8

Verification:-

 \longrightarrow 48 = 2×(2x + x)

  • Put x = 8

 \longrightarrow 48 = 2×(2×8 + 8)

 \longrightarrow 48 = 2×(16 + 8)

 \longrightarrow 48 = 32 + 16

 \longrightarrow 48 = 48

Hence, Verified!!

We have taken Breadth be x. So, Breadth of rectangle is 8 cm.

We have also taken Length be 2x = 2×8 = 16. Thus, Length of rectangle is 16 cm.

Therefore,

Breadth of rectangle is 8 cm.
