Example,
HCl+NaOH-> NaCl+H2O
Here Sodium Chloride and water are the products.
We know that metal oxides are basic in nature. Hence they react with acids to form salt and water.
Here, NaOH is one such example of metal oxide. Here it acts as a base.
Such reactions are called neutralisation reactions.
K2O+H2SO4-> K2SO4+H2O.
Again, here K2O is the metal oxide.
