23. A Carnot engine uses first an ideal monatomic gas
Ty and then an ideal diatomic gas y
as its working substance. The source and sink
temperature are 411°C and 69°C respectively. If the
engine extracts 1000 J of heat from the source in
each cycle, then
(1) Work done in both the cases is same and 500 J
(2) Work done in both the cases is same and 250 J
(3) Work done in first case is 500 J and second
case is 250 J
