Surface area of the glass used in  making hour glass = 565.2 cm²  where hour glass is made using  identical double glass cones of  diameter 10 cm each and total height = 24 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Diameter of cone = 10 cm

Radius of cone = 10/2 = 5 cm

Total Height = 24 cm

Height of 1 cone = 24/2 = 12 cm

Lateral Height = √5² + 12² = 13 cm

Surface Area of one cone = πr² + πrL

= π( 5² + 5*13)

= 90π

Surface Area of 2 cones = 2 * 90π

= 180π

using π = 3.14

= 565.2 cm²

surface area of the glass used in  making hour glass = 565.2 cm²
