Chinchwad, August 9 : The Green Group of Std. XII B held asocial service camp from August 5 to 7. Eight students travelle Sumo to Navigaon, which is about 27 km outside the city, to the east Our group leaders had already been to the village and contacter village elders. They had studied the requirements of the villagers to had collected materials such as medicines, books and stationer and saplings. In the village we were put up in the school premises. The villagers were very hospitable. We conducted classes for them. The subjects were health, sanitation and simple rules for crop rotation. The villagers were very cooperative and eager to learn. We also learnt a lot from them. We showed them how to improve their drainage and how to construct sanitary lavatories. We enjoyed the food they provided and even took part in their local folk dance around a bonfire, wearing the local costumes. This was indeed great fun. We built up a lasting friendship with the villagers, and hope to conduct more such camps in the future.
