Correct question:-

If the mass of a body get doubled and velocity becomes half,then linear momentum of the body will be.

a.same

b.one-third

c.double

d.two-fifth

Solution:-

We know that:-

 =  > p = mv \:  \:  \:  -  -  - (1)

Where:-

p is linear momentum

m is mass of the body

v is velocity of the body

If mass is doubled and velocity is halved,then the equation for p1 becomes:-

 =  > p1 = 2m \times  \frac{v}{2}

 =  > p1 =mv -  -  -  - (2)

Now,by dividing eq.2 by eq.1,we get:-

 =  >  \frac{p1}{p}  =  \frac{mv}{mv}

 =  > p1 = p

Hence,in this case the linear momentum remains same.
