To Find :   probability  that the new product will be launched by the new general manager

Solution:

chance of being selected for the post are in the ratio of  6:4:3

Probability of x  = 6/13

Probability of y = 4/13

Probability of z  = 3/13

probability that new product is launched by x , y & z are 0.5, 0.7 and 0.4 respectively

probability  that the new product will be launched by the new general manager

= (6/13) (0.5)  + (4/13)(0.7)  + (3/13)(0.4)

= 3/13  + 2.8/13  + 1.2/13

= ( 3 + 2.8 + 1.2)/13

= 7/13

7/13 is the  probability  that the new product will be launched by the new general manager
