In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, Government of India has decided to celebrate January 25 every year as 'National Voters' Day' . It started from January 25, 2011 to mark Commission's foundation day.

National voter day in India is celebrated every year on 25th January. This day is important for every citizen of India. Every citizen of India should take the oath of participation in every election of his nation on this day, because the votes of every person in India is the foundation of future of the country.

That is why every person's vote becomes part of the nation's formation. The responsibility of conducting elections in India with fairness is the responsibility of the 'Election Commission', the Election Commission of India was formed on January 25, 1950 a day before the implementation of the Indian Constitution. Because on 26th January 1950 India was going to be a democratic country. And in India, the formation of the Election Commission was necessary for holding elections through democratic processes, that is why the Election Commission of India was formed on January 25, 1950. Government of India has started celebrating the Election Day of the Election Commission on January 25 as National Voters Day to increase the participation of people in every election since 2011. Every year the nation's voter day reminds the citizens of all India to duty towards their nation. Organizing National Voters Day also tells people that it is important for every person to vote.
