Let the total amount of solution be X
Thus According to question
Petrol in solution P = 20 % X = 0.2 X
Diesel in Solution D= 50% X = 0.5 X
Kerosene in Solution K = 30% X = 0.3 X
Thus X = P + D + K
We are given that
25% X is replaced with kerosene
Thus new composition
K = 25%X
K = 25% [ P+K+D]
K = 0.25 [ P + D + K ]
Thus
0.75 K = P + D
Thus X = P + D + P+ D / 0,75 = 1.75/0.75 [ P+ D]
Also
It is given that
2/3 X = P
thus
1.75/ 0.75 [ P + D ] = 3/2 P
7/3D = 3/2P - 7/3 P
7/3 D = -5/6 P
D = 5/ 14 P
Thus According to question
Petrol in solution P = 20 % X = 0.2 X
Diesel in Solution D= 50% X = 0.5 X
Kerosene in Solution K = 30% X = 0.3 X
Thus X = P + D + K
We are given that
25% X is replaced with kerosene
Thus new composition
K = 25%X
K = 25% [ P+K+D]
K = 0.25 [ P + D + K ]
Thus
0.75 K = P + D
Thus X = P + D + P+ D / 0,75 = 1.75/0.75 [ P+ D]
Also
It is given that
2/3 X = P
thus
1.75/ 0.75 [ P + D ] = 3/2 P
7/3D = 3/2P - 7/3 P
7/3 D = -5/6 P
D = 5/ 14 P
