26 people fall ill due to food poisoning,
At least 26 people, including women and children, were taken ill due to suspected food poisoning after consuming food at a function to mark the death of a villager in Dharashiv village in Janjgir district on Thursday.
According to police, soon after consuming the food, several people complained of nausea and many started vomiting. They all were rushed the local hospital and admitted for treatment. Police officials said all the children are out of danger with few of them having been discharged from the hospital.
Doctor on duty at district hospital said medicines and treatment facilities have been provided to all the affected people and their condition in “stable”.
The police has so far not registered any case and investigations are in progress.
