The degree of a polynomial means, the highest power of the variable in the entire expression.

For example, if

f(x) = x^3 - 3x^2 + 2x+1

then the degree of this polynomial f(x) will be 3.

if, f(x) = 2x+1

Then, the degree of this polynomial will be 1

Now,

if the polynomial is a constant polynomial which means, it's f(x) = k

however, this can also be written as f(x) = k* x^0

So, clearly this would mean that the degree of any constant polynomial will be 0
