27. The height of an arch is 2 m and breadth is 20 m. Without changing the radius of arch its
breadth is taken 48 m. Find the new height of the arch.

Answer:

radius =r

distance to the centre of the

arch=r-2

r2=10 ^2+(r-2)^2

r^2 = 100+ r2-2r+4

2r=104

r=52m (i)

After change in breadth

distance from centre to the centre

of the arch

= V52^2-24^2 =v2128=46.

New height=52.00 -46=6m Ans
