Given :

• Meera is 5 years younger than Pooja
• Four years later, Pooja will be twice as old as Meera

Solution :

Meera's present age = Pooja's present age - 5 years

➜ Meera's present age = x - 5

➜ Age of Pooja after 4 year = (x+4)

➜ Age of Meera after 4 year = (x-5)+4 = (x-1)

Also it is given that , Four years later, Pooja will be twice as old as Meera

➜ (x+4) = 2×(x-1)

➜ x + 4 = 2x - 2

➜ 2x - x = 4+2

➜ x = 6

Pooja's present age= x = 6years

Meera's persent age = (x-5) = 6-5 = 1 years
