Step-by-step explanation:

5x + 5y = 250 --------(3)

2y = 30

y = 15

x + 15 = 50

x = 35

Answer:

The final answer to the given question is the total number of boys is 35.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given data

Total number of oranges =280

Number of boys and girls=50

No of oranges boy should get =5

Several oranges a girl should get = 7.

To find :

A number of boys in the class?

Solution :

let x be the number of boys in the class and y are the number of girls.

ys and girls get 5 oranges each, then the equation will become 5x + 5y = 250 -  -  -  - (3)

ys and girls get 5 oranges each, then the equation will become 5x + 5y = 250 -  -  -  - (3)let's subtract equation 3 from 2, we get

By using this we can obtain the total number of boys

substitute y in equation 1.

x + y = 50 \\ x + 15 = 50 \\ x = 50 - 15 \\ x = 35

The total number of this is 35.
