29. Mrudhula gave birth to twins, when she was twenty
years old. After x years, the sum of the ages of
Mrudhula and her twin children is 50 years. What is
the value of x?​

To find :

  • The number of years (x) after which the sum of ages of Mardhula and her twin children will be 50 years.

Solution :

Let the number of years be 'x'

The age of each of the children will be equal to the number of years which is 'x'

.°. The total age of twins after 'x' years => (x + x) = 2x

According to question,

=> 20 + 2x + x = 50

=> 20 + 3x = 50

=> 3x = 50 - 20

=> 3x = 30

=> x = 30/3

.°. x = 10

Hence, the number of years after which the sum of their ages will be 50 years is 10 years respectively.
