Explanation:

When 2-chloropropane reacts with alcoholic KOH then, it form prop-1-ene, Potassium chloride and water.

Chemical equation :-

CH3CH(Cl)CH3 → CH3-CH=CH2 + KCl + H2O

Additional information :-

When 2-chloropropane reacts with aqueous KOH then, it form propan-2-ol and KCl.

Chemical equation :-

CH3CH(Cl)CH3 → CH3CH(OH)CH3 + KCl

Note :-

✪ The reaction depends on the medium of KOH taken in the reaction. If we take Alcoholic KOH it forms Alkene and if we take aqueous KOH then it will form Alcohol.
