2N0² why is it called nitrogen dioxide...It has 4 atoms of Oxygen

oxide is not O.It is O₂ . oxygen can exist as only diatomic molecule in chemical reactions

NO₂ has two oxide (O₂)

so it is nitrogen dioxide
