 - 2p =   \frac{3 + 1}{3q + q}

 - 2p =  \frac{3 + 1}{q(3 + 1)}

 - 2p =  \frac{1}{q}

p =  \frac{ - 1}{2q}

Therefore,

p =  \frac{1}{2q}
